Thoroughly enjoyed this Errin! So many great takeaways for me:
"There is room for the terrible and terrific – often all at the same damn time." - Exactly this! If there is one lesson I'm learnign over and over again in all aspects, in all avenues, and in all ways, it's this one.
"if I catch myself overthinking it I’ll rotate the art around and work from a different view." - Excellent tip! I'm kicking myself that I've never once thought about.
Errin, you're helping me learn ways to take my art practice to a more healing place. You really have a gift for explaining your process in a voice that's encouraging, simple (but not simplistic!) and individual. I find it particularly helpful to listen to your process for: intuitively starting a piece, then *going deeper* into it--not being afraid to only use a piece(s) of it, and finally sitting and listening to what you might discover. Thank you for the care you take in offering this work.
Ann, I don't know that I can fully articulate how much reading your words here means to me! I appreciate you taking the time to read what I wrote, but also that you really sense what I'm working to express. Writing does now come that naturally to me, yet I have this current urge to share my experience in hopes to connect and inspire. Thank you so much for your encouragement!
And, likewise I thoroughly enjoy reading your microseasons pieces. They bring me a lot of comfort and I learn and feel so much as I read your words. So excellent to connect with you!
I feel like we share a mutual shy determination to allow something healing to be expressed through words and images. I’m so honored that you would read microseasons, Thank you very kindly for the encouragement, friend.
So glad you enjoyed it! It's truly great to hear that this is meaningful for you!
Yes, just like you mentioned in a recent IG post, making room for the next thing is a daily way to clear the mind and heart.

"We Float" is my favorite! So good!
Thanks for this!
