Love the way you describe this creativity practice!

A practical question -- do you use regular glue to create these collages, or something else?

Thank you! I’ve got a whole pile of old calendars, magazines, cards, etc. Have been thinking for a while that I want to have another creative practice ‘on the side’ in addition to writing, something more visual. I’d like to dive into collage making!

So inspiring! Thanks for sharing this!

When I view my abstract photos, I often zoom in to find smaller segments that I feel could be stand-alone abstract images. Now that I have a pro photo printer, I need to carve out some time to create some abstract photographic collages.

Great idea, Joe! So glad it's inspiring! It's fun to remix, crop and find new windows into what we create. It can keep the conversation going in a way and give a new perspective.

It's not easy to describe something so intuitive. The questions you ask yourself are really helpful. So often a good question unlocks a door.

I think essentially that's what it's all about for me - keep asking questions.

Loved reading this! So much of it resonates. I love the subtle ways you align certain angles and markings. It's something I often find myself doing as well, looking for what I like to call the "through lines".

So glad it resonates with you! "Through lines" captures that perfectly. It's a way to add connections and flow, but I think it also can help ground a piece that might have a lot going on.

Totally agree! Creates an architecture and a kind of hierarchy. And finding it becomes something contemplative.
